OUR MISSION
Forgiven Skate Church exists to lead and disciple the extreme sports community of Oklahoma into a genuine relationship with Christ while also developing leaders primed to be culture changers in this world.
OUR STORY
Forgiven Skate Team was started in September of 2012 by Charles Steiger. Charles and his kids all shared a love for skateboarding. That love would take them to South Lakes Skate Plaza in OKC, it was there that Charles felt the need to start a bible study. Through a local skate shop, Oklahoma Cheap Skates, Darrin Zdanowski and Charles crossed paths. Together they reached out to the local skate community by sharing the gospel and supporting the skate scene, this is where Forgiven Skate Church began.
June 2014 Industrial Skatepark in Norman became Forgiven’s home, where they held bi-monthly skate studies. In January of 2015 Industrial moved to Downtown OKC and Forgiven Skate followed. When Industrial closed down in 2018 they donated all the ramps and materials to Forgiven. We ask you pray with us to allow God to open the doors to a possible warehouse to house Forgiven’s own warehouse.
Since moving to OKC, Forgiven has grown in both size and support. Today Forgiven Skate Church is steered and directed by a very diverse and gifted leadership board lead by Darrin Zdanowski. Together we are building a local Church to evangelize, serve and disciple the Extreme Sports community in the OKC metro area.
Forgiven is dedicated to inspiring a relationship with Christ through the Church, skateboarding culture and lifestyle. Our overall purpose and goal is to help the local Extreme Sports community by providing a safe environment where they can grow in their craft, hear about the love of Jesus and be discipled through the local Church.
The future of Forgiven is BRIGHT and we feel the Spirit of God is moving us into a new season of work. We are looking forward to sharing all that is ahead very soon! God bless.

Growing up as a military brat I moved every 3-6 years. I started skating at 10 but didn’t really find the love for it till I was 13 during my stay in England. At 15, we moved to Texas where Football became my life. I joined the Air Force out of high school and did not pick up a skate board again till I was 35. Growing up my journey to Christ was a sporadic Chreaster (Christmas and Easter), I was pulled between the Catholic and Baptist Faith. It was in the Air Force that I decided I knew what was right and wrong and God didn’t have a place in my life. I would continue that path until Brain Sumner, a professional skater, came to be the one who showed me the light of Christ. That day, God spoke to me and told me the difference between being a Christ follower and Religion. I have a wonderful wife, Carrie and two beautiful daughters Carley and Aubrey. I am so proud to walk in Christ with my family and Forgiven Skate Church.
With 4 kids (Jet, Elliot, Kyrie, Cora) and a loving wife, I live my life working towards God's plan for my life. I started skating at about 12 years old, quit around 20, and started again at 32. I am self employed as of this year. Most of my time is spent working and hanging with my family. Skate boarding has always been a part of my life and now I use it for God's work.
Josh Klinglesmith is a very gifted filmographer from Anadarko, Oklahoma. His experience in the skate culture and business is untouched. Josh is also a very passionate follower of Jesus Christ and has a heart of gold. We are very lucky to have his leadership and experience here at Forgiven.
Kyle is a student pastor here in the OKC metro area and has been working in local church ministry for 15 years. Kyle connected to Forgiven Skate Church in 2016 when he was looking for a place for his son to skate. Kyle is a gifted communicator and thinks he is a expert skate teacher even though he doesn't skate, LOL. Kyle is married to Audra and they have 2 kids Ella and Kash.
